Energy-Efficient Building, Plaza Mandiri Wins 1st Place in ASEAN Energy Awards 2023

Bank Mandiris head office, Plaza Mandiri, recently won 1st place in the ASEAN Energy Awards 2023 in the Retrofitted Building category.

The ASEAN Energy Awards is Southeast Asias leading energy saving award organized annually by the ASEAN Centre for Energy since 2010.

The event is attended by properties from various countries in Southeast Asia. The award was held in Nusa Dua, Denpasar, Bali on Friday, August 25, 2023.

The award was received directly by the President Director of PT Gedung Bank Exim, Soesetyo Hadi as the Plaza Mandiri building manager.

Bank Mandiri continues to strive for efficiency in business operations in line with ESG commitments, including in energy use.

Deputy President Director of Bank Mandiri, Alexandra Askandar revealed that the award proves that Bank Mandiri is on the right track in an effort to realize the Net Zero Emission target by 2060.

On the other hand, she said, efforts to achieve a balance of carbon emissions to be neutral on the operational side were carried out through energy and water efficient building management.

"This is in accordance with sustainable operation, which is one of the three ESG pillars at Bank Mandiri," he said.

Plaza Mandiri is a 32-story office building with an area of 129,000 m2 (gross) owned by Bank Mandiri. Saving energy by 10.8%, efficiency from lighting & vertical transportation system, and 20.8% from air conditioner system are the first steps achieved.

Furthermore, Plaza Madiri will certainly continue to strive to carry out energy reduction activities with the concept of using renewable energy, namely the installation of 110 kwp solar panels.
